'WLL & GRACE' RETURN TRAILER! CBS ORDERS '9JKL', 'BY THE BOOK' SITCOMS. FOX ORDERS 'ORVILLE' SF COMEDY SHOW & MEDICAL 'RESIDENT' WITH MANISH DAYAL, MATT CZUCHRY. 'BABY DADDY', 2 BROKE GIRLS' CANCELLED

 'WILL & GRACE'
RETURN THIS AUTUMN TO NBC
NBC is to release the first trailer for the comeback of their WILL & GRACE sitcom, which will return to Thursday nights with This Is Us this Autumn with 12 and possibly even more new episodes. Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, Eric McCormack and Sean Hayes, are all returning in their original roles. I will replace the US only trailer below as soon as the non geoblocked one appears.

CBS ORDERS '9JKL' SITCOM
CBS has ordered new multicamera sitcom 9JKL. Starring Mark Feuerstein it is inspired by the time he lived in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, right between his doting parents’ apartment 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby’s apartment 9L, and his attempts to set boundaries with his intrusive but well-meaning family. Linda Lavin, Elliott Gould, David Walton play his parents and his brother.

FOX ORDERS 'ORVILLE' SETH MACFARLANE SF COMEDY
Fox has ordered 13 episodes of Seth MacFarlane's sf comedy  THE ORVILLE in which the story is set 300 years in the future. It follows the adventures of the Orville, a not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship in Earth’s interstellar Fleet. Facing cosmic challenges from without and within, this motley crew of space explorers will boldly go where no comedic drama has gone before. MacFarlane stars, writers, creates and executive produces the series which will air on Thursdays this Autumn.

 FOX ORDERS 'THE RESIDENT'
STARRING MANISH DAYAL AND MATT CZUCHRY
Fox has also ordered Manish Dayal's medical series THE RESIDENT which follows a tough, brilliant senior resident who guides an idealistic young doctor through his first day, pulling back the curtain on what really happens, both good and bad, in modern-day medicine. Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp and Bruce Greenwood also star.

LATEST SITCOM CANCELLATIONS!
ABC has put Carol Burnett's sitcom HOUSEHOLD NAME to a 'rework' stage but it did order the return of ROSEANNE after cancelling their six year long, 2nd best watched, sitcom LAST MAN STANDING! CBS has ordered BY THE BOOK (aka Living Biblically) multi camera sitcom while cancelling 2 BROKE GIRLS after 6 years and THE ODD COUPLE! CBS has also passed on DISTEFANO and BROTHERED UP sitcom pilots.  FreeForm has cancelled their own 6 year long sitcom BABY DADDY last weekend to the shock of fans since it was their best watched comedy ever and will end on its 100th episode.

  1. Oh no! "2 Broke Girls" is cancelled??? Where, oh where, will I get my smutty, low-brow, sexual-innuendo-filled trash TV viewing now? "Will and Grace" better step up to fill the void!

  2. I never watched Will & Grace, but it was one of my mom's favorite shows. She is so excited for the return.

So, how pissed are you about Baby Daddy? Seems like they are taking away all the good ones, eh?

    1. I did not hate Will and Grace, but I also did not love it as much as other multi camera sitcoms, there was always something missing in it, maybe the fact they are so cynical that them two are unlikeable and annoying and also because their stories weren't always very good, and usually lacked in any kind of warmth. I did love the bitchiness from Karen and Rosario, but they weren't lead characters and you can't base a sitcom just on two good characters.

I kinda had a feeling they will end Baby Daddy but not cancel it like this, ruthlessly, just to use the money for the second part of the season for some new Blackish spinoff which nobody will ever watch. Baby Daddy did start to lack in atmosphere it had before, but it was still their most watched comedy and with PLL the only thing FreeForm was actually known for, so it is crazy to just kill it on the tenth episode of the season instead of finishing it properly and announced on the 20th this summer. The same is with Last Man Standing, the kids went to college or got married, so it was natural for the sitcom to end, but after six years of being their second most watched comedy and the best watched programme on Friday nights they at least deserved final six or ten episodes for some closure

    2. Nothing irritates me more than when a show gets cancelled without a proper sendoff of all the characters. Even if you are going to give the show the boot, I think they need to understand that the viewers deserve some kind of closure for sticking with the show for many years. To just strip it away without a proper goodbye? That's just rude!

    3. it is, especially with long running shows which obviously brought them much money and viewership. Five farewell episodes isn't much to ask.

  3. I have heard that many of the new tv shows released this year have done badly. Maybe that's why they're trying a come back with Will and Grace. I used to like it, but that Debbie Messy girl is a bit stupid. If she shut her mouth, I'd be okay with her.

    1. yes, Grace is so annoying in the sitcom, she often grates on my nerves. She is supposed to be cute, but she sure ain't, if they did not have Rosario and Karen I never would have watched it. I was never an overly big fan of the sitcoms with cynical and egoistic people such as Will and Grace and old Seinfeld. That being said, the sitcom was often funny and entertaining, but not overly so. Dahlink, out of all the new comedies, you might like SUPERIOR DONUTS on CBS, with Judd Hirsch. It is so old school, warm but very relevant, brave and charming, I love it, it will be my fave sitcom from next season now that Baby Daddy and Last Man Standing have been killed
