JASON MOMOA IS THE NEW CONAN, MICKEY ROURKE MIGHT PLAY HIS FATHER

Last week we informed you that the upcoming remake of famous "Conan" had two young actors competing for the tittle role, but now it seems Jason Momoa ("Stargate Atlantis", "Baywatch") has signed on to play the glorious barbarian in the epic adventure. The studio was choosing between him and Kellan Lutz, but apparently Momoa got the support of director Marcus Nispel by filming a few scenes wielding a giant sword. It also seems that Mickey Rourke could possibly play Conan's father, Codril. An offer has been sent to Rourke, but it still isn't clear if he will accept it or not.
The movie will start production on March 15th in Bulgaria.

  2. Oooh, a scantily clad muscley man wielding a giant sword? Count me in. (I can totally see Mickey playing his dad... he has long scroungey hair too.)

  4. Momoa is a great choice for Conan. Now, let us hope film will be decent. I don't need super-spectacle, just good enough movie.

  7. Unfortunately, Avalon, it's not a wig, he likes wearing dreadlocks, and his girfriend has the exact same hairdo, or at least they both had it, I don't know whether they've finally had a haircut to get rid of that thing that looks like a dead animal on their head :)

  8. OMG! I didn't know that Conan will be shot in Bulgaria! Honestly, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing! :) I'm proud it's going to be filmed here, but.......... I don't know. We'll see ;)

  9. As far as I know, a number of foreign movies has been made in your Bulgaria in last ten years. You have good sets and cheap workers, but Serbia has just opened PFI studios, with even better sets and even cheaper workers :)))) so we might steal some lucrative productions from you in the near future :)) Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler are already coming here this spring to shot CORIOLANUS.
